Dr. Akshay Shivchhand completed his MBBS from BJMC Pune, after which he pursued his MD medicine from prestigious KEM Hospital, Mumbai. He has flourishing academic achievements on his name. After finishing his MD, he joined prestigious Gujarat Cancer Research Institute, Ahmedabad for DM(medical oncology) tenure under the able guidance of Dr. Asha Anand. He has been awarded young scientist research award.

After his completion, he worked as a chief consultant medical oncologist in Apple Saraswati Hospital for two and half years. Also he has been part of Government Hospital, Kolhapur and he is fond of teaching PG students an art of medicine. He has vivid 5 years of experience in treating various malignancies with special interest in Myeloma, Lymphoma, Prostate Cancer, Breast cancer and Paediatric malignancies.

He is also an expert in treating cancers of young adults and preservation of fertility of young patients while battling with this deadly disease. He holds a European Certification in Medical Oncology(ECMO) and also been awarded a DNB degree. He is first to hold such an esteemed qualifications in Kolhapur and nearby districts. He has various national and international publications on his name.

He has also done a preceptorship course in breast cancer organised by ESMO and was granted International Cancer Fund Scholarship. He believes that the needs of every cancer patient are different and it’s important to have an individualistic, compassionate approach towards it.
