He Completed his MBBS and MD from the prestigious Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, Mumbai, followed by a DM in Medical Oncology from Tata Memorial Hospital, one of Asia’s leading cancer Institutes. He holds an ESMO certification, MRCP (UK)- Specialty Certificate in Medical Oncology, and a Harvard Medical School Certification in Immuno-Oncology.

Dr. Tongaonkar has expertise in treating various types of cancers like Breast Cancer, Lung Cancer, Gastro-Intestinal Cancers, Genito-Urinary Cancers and various Hematological malignancies. He also specializes in state-of-the-art treatments like Immunotherapy and Targeted Therapies. He is an active member of world renowned oncology-dedicated organizations like ASCO, ESMO, ANZUP, and ISMPO and has presented scientific research at multiple international and national oncology forums. With over 12 research publications in international peer-reviewed journals, he continues to contribute to advancements in Cancer Treatment.

Dr. Tongaonkar was also a frontline warrior during the COVID-19 pandemic, serving at KEM Hospital, Kasturba Hospital, Seven Hills Hospital, and Tata Memorial Hospital. He is passionate about patient advocacy and cancer awareness outreach. Inspired by his father, Dr. Hemant B. Tongaonkar, one of India’s senior-most Surgical Oncologists, he remains dedicated to transforming cancer care.
